WELCOME TO WDC!
Welcome to Woodbury Dance Center!  Whether you are a new or returning student, we are very excited to have you with us this year.  We hope that all students enjoyed their summer vacation and we look forward to a fun-filled and exciting dance season.

Our monthly newsletter will be on-line each month to notify parents of upcoming events and studio information.  Please continue to go on-line each month to look through the newsletter monthly as it will contain important updates throughout the year.  One of our goals at WDC is to keep everyone informed as much as possible, read through our monthly newsletter to stay up to date of studio information.

If you do not have access to the internet and need a copy, please ask at the front desk. 

 

Monthly newsletters will be available for viewing on our website.  We will have hard copies posted on the bulletin board at the studio.  Please ask for a copy at the desk if you do not have access to the internet.  Look for our newsletter at the beginning of each month, they contain important info, important dates etc..  We try to keep everyone informed as much as possible. Reading our newsletter will help you stay informed!!

 

Woodbury Dance Center Payment Policies

Tuitionis due the first lesson of each month.  A $2.00 late fee will be automatically added to your account if the tuition is not received on or before the second lesson of the month.

Recurring billing  With our new online system we are now able to offer recurring billing with your credit card.  This will begin on October 1st.  Accounts will be charged each month on the 1st for tuition payments and all other charges/fees that are due at that time.  To take part in this program you will need to either access your online account, enter your credit/debit card information and choose "yes" for recurring billing OR stop by the front desk to fill out a form and give the desk staff your credit card information.  This program will offer a great option for busy families to keep up with tuition payments and will avoid parents needing to stop by the desk every month or pay online.  Please let us know if you have any questions.  Thank you! 

Online payments  Our online system does not allow payments in advance for charges that have not been applied to your account.  If you would like to pay in advance for future charges please contact the studio.  Thank you!

Tuition Discounts  There is a $1.00 discount per month for paying three months tuition at a time.  There is a 5% discount for paying the full year tuition in September.

Family Discounts  There is a $6.00 tuition discount for the second student in the family.  The third (or more) students is half price tuition. 

Returned Checks  There is a $10- charge added to your account for any returned checks.

Statements  You will not receive a statement unless your account is past due.  Statements will be emailed out.

Make-up lessons may be taken if a student misses their class.  Please check with your instructor or at the front desk to determine which class to take for your make-up lesson.  Make-up lessons should be taken within two weeks of your student's absence.

 

 RECITAL COSTUMES

To ensure costume delivery before recital and pictures in the spring, costumed are ordered in December.  Students are measured and try on sample costumes during class in the late fall.  Room for growth is taken into consideration, especially with our younger dancers.   

Costume Deposit of $35- is due Oct 15th or with your October tuition payment

*Hip Hop dancers will also be required to purchase tennis shoes for recital which will be ordered through WDC for your convenience.  Price will be approximately $20 - $30.
 
**Boys costumes will vary depending on costumes chosen, but will not exceed $70- for one costume or $110- total for 2 costumes.
  • Costumes costs include all accessories,tights (for girls)  & a copy of your dancer's recital music. 
  • Costume payments are non-refundable after Dec. 1st.
  • Costumes payments must be up to date if you would like a costume ordered for your dancer. 
  • If you choose not to participate in recital, please notify the front desk or email the studio.

Recital Dates are tentatively set for June 5th-10th at East Ridge High School in Woodbury with dress rehearsals running May 14th-16th.  More information on the exact date/time that your dancer's class will perform will be available in February.    

PARKING LOT  Please drive carefully when going through the parking lot and watch out for little ones!! 

Also, please be aware that trucks need to be able to get through the driveway on the back/north side of the building as well as the street that runs along side the south side of the south parking lot.  Please park on the sides closest to our buliding only. 

Other tenants in our building need parking for customers during their business hours.  Please do not park in the posted parking spots during these hours. 

Did you know?

  • Free WiFi will soon be available again for our dance families.  We are currently updating our WiFi to better serve you.
  • That we have extra shoes at the front counter to borrow in case you forget your dance bag?  Please return them at the end of dance class.
  • That we have extra leotards and tights available for our little dancers to borrow in case of an accident? (Just ask at the front desk)
  • There is a diaper changing deck in the unisex bathroom?  Please use the provided diaper pail.
  • There are baby changing supplies at the front desk if you need them?
  • There are books and coloring supplies near the front desk to help keep siblings occupied?
  • There is a bulletin board to sell  and buy used shoes next to boutique door?
  • There are refrigerated snacks for sale near the front desk, including juice boxes, string cheese, yogurts, frappuccino and more?

Waiting Room Etiquette

For the safety and comfort of everyone, we would like to remind you of some guidelines.

  • Please throw away trash to help keep the lobby clean!
  • Running & rough play is not allowed.
  • Please help us keep the noise level down in the lobby by encouraging your children to use 'their inside voices'.
  • As cold weather approaches, please use coat hook areas for coats and boots.

Label, label, label!!  Please label all of your child's dance shoes and dance wear..

Recital DVDs/Videos and Class Pictures are at the front desk.  If you ordered them last spring and have not gotten them please stop by the desk.

Thursday, April 5th - Saturday, April 7th:  No classes

Monday, May 14th - Wednesday, May 16th:  Dress rehearsals at East Ridge (No classes at studio)

Friday, May 25th - Monday, May 28th:  No classes

Tuesday, May 29th - Monday, June 4th:  Last week of classes for the season

*There are many other dates throughout the year when children may be out of school for holidays or other breaks.  The above dates are the only dates that WDC is closed for classes.

 

HALLOWEEN PARTIES

Students are invited to wear a Halloween costume to their class the week of Monday, Oct 22th through Saturday, Oct 29th.  Please make sure that the costume does nto restrict movement so that students can still participate in dance class.  We will have Halloween treats too!

 

COSTUMES WANTED FOR SPECIAL KIDS!!

Do you have gently used recital costumes that you would like to donate to a great cause? Breanna’s Gift is an Arts Endowment program for kids with serious and terminal illness. Our Miss Shelley is the dance teacher for the program. She teaches dance to special kids at the Ronald McDonald House and Children’s Hospital.  In the past WDC has donated costumes for Shelley to give to her students. The kids loved them!! Shelley suggested that we give our WDC dancers the opportunity to do the same. The costumes will be hand washed by Breanna's Gift staff before they are passed out, so they cannot have feather trim attached. Donations are tax deductible. If you would like a receipt, ask for one at the desk when you donate your costume(s). If you have any questions, please email the studio. Thanks for your help!

 

COSTUME PARTY-- Sign-up at the Front Desk to join the fun at our Costume Party on Saturday, October 22nd from 6-9pm.  For ages 2nd grade & Up.  Siblings, friends, non-WDC students welcome.  $10 for dancing, games, food, crafts, and fun!
